G 9 E B 1 ## G9EB-1 DC Power Relays (25-A Models) ## **DC Power Relays Capable of Interrupting** ## **High-voltage, High-current DC Load** - Utilizes a unique gas-filled, fully sealed, non-ceramic construction achieved by using resin with a metal case. This reduces the need for special processing and materials that were required with previous models, resulting in a low-cost relay that is both compact and lightweight. - Smallest and lightest in its class at 25 × 60 × 58 mm and approximately 135 g. This is approximately half the volume and a third of the weight of other DC Power Relays in the same class (400 VDC, 25 A).* - The unique design of the contact switching component and permanent magnet for blowing out the arc eliminates the need for polarity in the main circuit (contact terminal). This improves ease of wiring and installation, and contributes to providing failsafe measures against incorrect wiring. * Based on our investigation as of December 2004. **RoHS Compliant** ~~[|~~ Refer to **"DC Power Relays Common Precautions"** . ■ **Model Number Legend G9EB-** @ - @ - @ - @ **1. The insulation resistance was measured with a 500-VDC megohmmeter. *3. The impulse withstand voltage was measured with a JEC-212 (1981) standard impulse voltage waveform (1.2 × 50 μ s). *4. The mechanical endurance was measured at a switching frequency of 3,600 operations/hr. *5. The electrical endurance was measured at a switching frequency of 60 operations/hr. *6. These values are for when a varistor is used as the protective circuit against reverse surge in the relay coil. Using a diode will reduce theswitching characteristics. **2** G9EB-1 **DC Power Relays (25-A Models)** ## ■ **Engineering Data** ## **G9EB-1-B Switching/Current Conduction Models** **==> picture [544 x 704] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
● Maximum Switching Capacity ● Electrical Endurance (Switching ● Electrical Endurance (Interruption
Performance) Performance)
100 100 1,000
50 500
50 DC resistive load 30 300
Switching 250-VDC
30 resistive load
10 100 Interrupting 250-VDC
5 50 resistive load
10 3 30
5 1 10
3 0.5 5
0.3 3
1 0.1 1
10 30 50 100 300 500 1,000 10 30 50 100 300 500 1,000 10 30 50 100 300 500 1,000
Switching voltage (V) Switching current (A) Switching current (A)
● Carry Current vs Energizing Time ● Must-operate Voltage and ● Time Characteristic Distributions
Must-release Voltage Distributions
100,000 30 60
Sample: G9EB-1-B 12 VDC Must-operate voltage Sample: G9EB-1-B 12 VDC Operate time
50,000 Number: 50 Number: 50
Must-release voltage Release time
30,000 25 50
10,000 20 40
5,000
3,000 15 30
1,000 10 20 G
500 9
300 5 10 E
B
100
10 30 50 100 300 500 1,000 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 0 4 8 12 16 20 1
Carry current (A) Percentage of rated voltage (%) Time (ms)
● Vibration Malfunction ● Vibration Resistances
1 5.0
Sample: G9EB-1-B 12 VDC Sample: G9EB-1-B 12 VDC
0.9 Number: 5 4.0 Number: 5
Unconfirmed area
0.8 3.0
0.7 2.0
0.6 1.0
Must-release voltage
0.5 0.0
Confirmed area Must-operate voltage
0.4 −1.0
0.3 −2.0
0.2 −3.0
0.1 −4.0
0 −5.0
1 3 5 10 30 50 100 Start After test
Frequency (Hz) Characteristics were measured after applying vibration
at a frequency of 10 to 55 Hz (single amplitude of
0.75 mm) to the test piece (not energized) for 2 hours
each in 3 directions.
