Gas Discharge Tubes **Datasheet** **CG10 Series** Gas Discharge Tubes ## [|e **RoHS** SAX ## **Description** The Littelfuse highly reliable CG10 Series GDTs provide a high surge capability in a small size ideal for board level circuit protection. GDTs function as switches which dissipate a minimum amount of energy and therefore handle currents that far surpass other types of transient voltage protection. Their gas-filled, rugged ceramic metal construction make them well suited to adverse environments. The CG10 series comes different forms including surface mount, straight leads, to serve a variety of mounting methods. ## **Features** - High surge current rating ■ Available in surface mount - ■ Rugged ceramic-metal and axial straight leads construction options - Low Capacitance ■ RoHS-compliant and lead-free (<1.0 pf) **Agency Approvals** Low Capacitance ■ RoHS-compliant and lead-free (<1.0 pf) **Agency Agency File Number** ■ High operating temperature W E128662 up to 125 ºC ## **Applications** ## **Two Electrode GDT Graphical Symbol** - Communication lines and ■ Instrumentation circuits equipment ■ Medical electronics - ■ CATV equipment ■ ADSL equipment - Test equipment ■ Telecom SLIC protection - Data lines ■ Alarm system - Power supplies ## **Electrical Characteristics** |**Part**
**Number**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Device Specifications (at 25 °C)**|**Life Rating**|**Life Rating**|**Life Rating**|**Life Rating**| |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---| ||**DC Breakdown**
**in Volts**
**(@100 V/s)**|||**Impulse**
**Break-down**
**In Volts**
**(@100 V/µs)**|**Impulse**
**Break-down**
**In Volts**
**(@1 kV/µs)**|**Break-down**
**Insulation**
**Resistance**|**Capa-**
**citance**
**(@1 MHz)**|**Arc Voltage**
**(on state**
**Voltage)**
**@1Amp Min**|**@1Amp Min**
**Surge Life**
**(@100A**
**10/1000µs)**|**Nominal**
**Impulse**
**Discharge**
**Current**
**(8/20µs)**|**Nominal AC**
**Discharge**
**Current**
**(10x1sec**
**@50Hz)**|**Nominal AC**
**Max Impulse**
**Discharge**
**Current**
**(1 Application**
**@ 10/350µs)**| ||**MIN**|**TYP**|**MAX**|||**MIN**||**TYP**||||| |CG1090|72|90|108|500|600|1010Ω at 50VDC|<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|10 A|2.5 kA| |CG10230|184|230|276|550|650||<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|20 A|2.5 kA| |CG10350|280|350|420|700|900||<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|20 A|2.5 kA| |CG10470|376|470|564|1000|1100|109Ω at 100VDC|<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|20 A|2.5 kA| |CG10600|480|600|720|1100|1400|1010Ω at 100VDC|<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|20 A|2.5 kA| |CG10800|640|800|960|1300|1500|1010Ω at 100VDC|<1 pF|10 V|300 shots|10 shots (@20 kA)|20 A|1.5 kA| |CG101000|800|1000 1200|1000 1200|1400|1500|109Ω at 100VDC|<1 pF|30 V|–|10 shots (@10 kA),
1 shot (@15 kA)|10 shots (@10 kA),
10 A|–| © 2024 Littelfuse, Inc. **1** Specifications are subject to change without notice. ~~a~~ Revised: GD. 10/31/24 Gas Discharge Tubes **Datasheet** **CG10 Series** Gas Discharge Tubes ## **Product Characteristics** **Materials** **LTR, Axial** Device: 17.5±12.5 Microns Lead Wires: 6-9 Microns **SM, SMD** Device: 17.5±12.5 Microns **Operating & Storage** -40 ºC to 125 ºC **Temperature** LF Logo, Voltage and date code; Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Littelfuse is a premier global manufacturer of circuit protection, power control, and sensing technologies. Widely recognized for pioneering the first small, fast-acting protective fuse, the company has grown into an industry leader whose highly reliable components are essential to modern industrial, transportation, and consumer electronics applications worldwide. At the core of the Littelfuse portfolio is an expansive and industry-leading range of circuit protection solutions. This encompasses a massive selection of traditional fuses, fuse holders, and resettable PTC thermistor fuses designed to safely interrupt overcurrent conditions. To defend against electrical overstress, Littelfuse also provides advanced transient voltage suppression (TVS) technologies, including thousands of specialized TVS diodes, TVS varistors, and gas discharge tubes (GDTs) that ensure robust defense against voltage spikes and environmental hazards. Beyond its foundational protection components, Littelfuse manufactures a diverse array of discrete semiconductors, sensors, and switching devices. Engineers rely on their high-performance thyristors, including TRIACs and SCRs, alongside power-efficient Schottky diodes and MOSFETs for demanding power control applications. Complemented by precision proximity sensors and highly reliable reed and solid-state relays, Littelfuse delivers the critical building blocks required for secure, efficient, and complete system design.
