**Reed Sensors** Flange Mounting Sensor > 59140 ## 59140 Miniature Flange Mo ~~unt Sensor + 57140 Actuator~~ ## **Description** **==> picture [81 x 86] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Actuator
Sensors
**----- End of picture text -----**
The 59140 is a miniature flange mounting reed sensor occupying only 3.22cm² (0.500”²) board space with a choice of normally open, normally open high voltage, normally closed or changeover contacts. It’s case design enables screw or adhesive mounting and the wires exit from top right hand side. It is also available with left hand exit - see 59141 Series. It is capable of switching up to 265Vac/300Vdc at 10VA. The 59140 functions best with the matching actuator 57140-000. ## **Note: The 57140 Actuator is sold separately.** ## **Features** ## **Agency Approvals** |**Agency**|**Agency File Number**| |---|---| |cWkus|E61760| Note: Contact Littelfuse for specific agency approval ratings. ## **Dimensions** Dimensions in mm (inch) **==> picture [148 x 106] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Actuator
6.00 23.00
(.236) (.906)
iA4
Actuator
i
i]
i]
3.00 14.00
(.118) (.551)
3.20x3.81 Typ.
Slot (.126x.150)
7.50 (.295)
11.00 (.433)
14.00 (.551)
**----- End of picture text -----**
- Choice of cable length and connector - Magnetically operated position sensor - RoHS compliant - Customer defined sensitivity option ## **Benefits** - Operates through non-ferrous materials such as wood, plastic or aluminium - Hermetically sealed, magnetically Operates through non-ferrous operated contacts continue to materials such as wood, plastic or operate long after optical and other aluminium technologies fail due to • Excellent for switching microcontamination controller logic level loads - No standby power requirement ## **Applications** - Linear actuators - Position and limit sensing - Security system switch - Door switch **==> picture [285 x 197] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Sensor (Two-wire version)
6.00 23.00 300±10mm
(.236) (.906) (11.81±.394)
(Excluding Encapsulant) 6.35 Nom.
1 I I (.250)
Sensor
i] a
’
| OO
3.00 14.00
(.118) (.551)
3.20x3.81 Typ.
Schematics Switch Type
Black
1 and 2
Black
Black
Blue 3
L [>—] White
Black
[ Black 4
7.50 (.295) 11.00 (.433)
14.00 (.551)
**----- End of picture text -----**
© 2019 Littelfuse Revised: 02/08/19 Specifications are subject to change without notice. littelfuse.com **Reed Sensors** Flange Mounting Sensor > 59140 **==> picture [94 x 32] intentionally omitted <==** ## 59140 Miniature Flange Mo ~~unt Sensor + 57140 Actuator~~ ## **Electrical Ratings** **==> picture [507 x 264] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Normally Normally Open Change Normally
Contact Type
Open High Voltage Over Closed
Switch Type 1 2 3 4
Contact Rating [1] VA/Watt - max. 10 10 5 5
Switching [2] Vdc - max. 200 300 175 175
Voltage [4] Vac - max. 140 265 120 120
Breakdown [3] Vdc - min. 250 400 200 200
Switching [2] Adc - max. 0.5 .40 0.25 0.25
Current [4] Aac - max. 0.35 0.30 0.18 0.18
Carry Adc - max. 1.2 1.4 1.5 1.5
Contact, Initial Ω - max. 0.2 0.2 0.2 0.2
Resistance [5]
Insulation Ω - min. 10 [10] 10 [10] 10 [9] 10 [9]
Capacitance Contact pF - typ. 0.3 0.2 0.3 0.3
Temperature Operating °C -40 to +105 -20 to +105 -40 to +105 -40 to +105
Product Characteristics
Operate Time [6] ms - max. 1.0 1.0 3.0 3.0
Release Time [6] ms - max. 1.0 1.0 3.0 3.0
Shock [7] 11ms 1⁄2 sine G - max. 100 100 50 50
Vibration [7] 50-2000 Hz G - max. 30 30 30 30
**----- End of picture text -----**
Notes: 1. Founded in 1927 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Littelfuse is a premier global manufacturer of circuit protection, power control, and sensing technologies. Widely recognized for pioneering the first small, fast-acting protective fuse, the company has grown into an industry leader whose highly reliable components are essential to modern industrial, transportation, and consumer electronics applications worldwide. At the core of the Littelfuse portfolio is an expansive and industry-leading range of circuit protection solutions. This encompasses a massive selection of traditional fuses, fuse holders, and resettable PTC thermistor fuses designed to safely interrupt overcurrent conditions. To defend against electrical overstress, Littelfuse also provides advanced transient voltage suppression (TVS) technologies, including thousands of specialized TVS diodes, TVS varistors, and gas discharge tubes (GDTs) that ensure robust defense against voltage spikes and environmental hazards. Beyond its foundational protection components, Littelfuse manufactures a diverse array of discrete semiconductors, sensors, and switching devices. Engineers rely on their high-performance thyristors, including TRIACs and SCRs, alongside power-efficient Schottky diodes and MOSFETs for demanding power control applications. Complemented by precision proximity sensors and highly reliable reed and solid-state relays, Littelfuse delivers the critical building blocks required for secure, efficient, and complete system design.
