**Reed Sensors** Firecracker > 59040 ## 59040 Press-Fit Firecracke ~~r Reed Sensor + 57040 Actuator~~ ## **Description** **==> picture [127 x 70] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Sensor
Actuator
**----- End of picture text -----**
The 59040 Press-Fit Firecracker Reed Sensor is a small, cylindrical reed sensor 31.0mm (1.22”) long that presses into a 9.5mm (.375”) diameter hole with a choice of normally open, normally closed or change-over contacts. It is capable of switching up to 200Vdc at 10W and is available with a range of sensitivity, cable length, plastic housing color (white, black, and wooden brown), and connector options. It has three crush ribs along the length of the capsule that allow a firm and fixed press-fit. It is well suited for position and limit sensing, security, level sensing applications. It functions best with the 57040 actuator. **Note: The 57040 Actuator is sold separately.** ## **Features** ## **Agency Approvals** **==> picture [174 x 33] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Agency Agency File Number
E61760
**----- End of picture text -----**
Note: Contact Littelfuse for specific agency approval ratings. ## **Dimensions** Dimensions in mm (inch) **==> picture [245 x 113] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Sensor
8.46±0.25
eo) = = (.333±.01) =
10.70 ±0.25
31.00±0.25 300
(.42 ±.01) f (1.22±.01) d (11.81)
Actuator
**----- End of picture text -----**
- Hermetically sealed contacts - Magnetically-operated press-fit proximity sensor - Customer-defined sensitivity options available - Cylindrical capsule with retaining ribs - Custom cable length and connector options available - Operates and mounts through nonferrous materials such as wood, plastic or aluminum - Press-fits into a standard drill size hole of 9.5mm (.375”) diameter ## **Benefits** - Ribs on capsule compress when • Non-contact solution, aesthetically inserted into a mounting hole and more appealing than push-button or provide retaining force, allowing lever mechanical-type switches simple and secure press-fit • Ideal for battery-powered installation applications as the contacts do not - • Quick and easy press-fit installation draw power when in the nonactivated state - Quick and easy press-fit installation that requires no screws, brackets, nor glue. - nor glue. • Reed contacts last for millions of - • Well suited for usage in highoperating cycles under micromoisture and contaminated controller voltage and current logicenvironments level loads ## **Applications** - Appliances - Position and limit sensing - Security - Industrial **==> picture [181 x 62] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
8.46±0.25
(.333±.01)
me
©) ET
10.70 ±0.25
31.00±0.25
(.42 ±.01)
(1.22±.01)
**----- End of picture text -----**
Notes: 1.
