The SMBJ26CA from Multicomp Pro is a high-reliability bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode engineered to safeguard sensitive microelectronics and power buses from overvoltage transients, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and lightning-induced surges. Operating with a reverse standoff voltage ($V_{RWM}$) of 26V and a minimum breakdown voltage ($V_{BR}$) of 28.9V (reaching a maximum of 31.9V at 1mA test current), this device delivers a robust clamping voltage ($V_C$) up to 42.1V at a peak pulse current of 14.3A. Designed for high-density surface mount architectures, it houses a glass-passivated junction capable of absorbing a peak pulse power dissipation of 600W using a standard 10/1000µs waveform.

Housed in a low-profile DO-214AA (SMB) molded plastic package with a UL 94V-0 flammability rating, the component supports efficient thermal and mechanical performance across a wide operating junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. Its fast response time—typically under 1.0 picosecond from 0V to $V_{BR}$ min—ensures immediate suppression of fast-rising voltage spikes. This series is designed specifically to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events.

TVS devices are ideal for the protection of I/O Interfaces,Vcc bus and other vulnerable circuits used in telecom, computer, industrial and consumer electronic applications.
