The sensor must not only be dust tight (IP6X), but also able to withstand high-pressure and steam cleaning. The sensor is exposed to high-pressure water from a spray nozzle that is fed with 80°C water at 8’000– 10’000 KPa (80–100bar) and a flow rate of 14–6L/min. The nozzle is held 100 –150 mm from the sensor at angles of 0°, 30°, 60° and 90° for 30s each. The test device sits on a turntable that rotates with a speed of 5 times per minute. The sensor must not suffer any damaging effects from the high pressure water in appearance and function. 90° 60° 30° 0° **2** Specifications are subject to change without notice (05.07.2022) **CA30CAN/CAF.....** ## **Adjustment Guide** The environments in which capacitive sensors are installed can often be unstable as regards temperature, humidity, object distance and industrial (noise) interference. This is why Carlo Gavazzi offers, as a stand- ard feature in all TRIPLESHIELD™ capacitive sensors, a user-friendly sensitivity adjustment instead of a fixed sensing range. Likewise, these sensors provide an extended sensing range to accommodate mechanically demanding areas and temperature stability to ensure high immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and a minimum need for adjusting sensitivity if the temperature varies. **==> picture [72 x 72] intentionally omitted <==** ## **Note:** The sensors are factory set (default) to nominal sensing range Sn. ## **Wiring Diagram** **==> picture [234 x 217] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
NPN
BN
WH
10 - 40 VDC
BK 200 mA
BU
PNP
BN
BK
10 - 40 VDC
WH 200 mA
BU
**----- End of picture text -----**
**==> picture [232 x 101] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
PNP Dust- or Temperature alarm on NC
BN
BK
10 - 40 VDC
WH (DU/TA) 200 mA
BU
**----- End of picture text -----**
**==> picture [232 x 101] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
PNP Dust- or Temperature alarm on NO
BN
BK
10 - 40 VDC
WH (DU/TA) 200 mA
BU
**----- End of picture text -----**
## **Detection Diagram** **==> picture [500 x 160] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Sensor
Y Flush Non-flush
X
Target
Distance (inch) Distance (inch)
-0,59 -0,39 -0,20 0 0,20 0,39 0,59 0,79 0,98 1,18 -0,59 -0,39 -0,20 0 0,20 0,39 0,59 0,79 0,98 1,18
25 0,98 25 0,98
20 0,79 20 0,79
15 0,59 15 0,59
10 0,39 10 0,39
5 0,20 5 0,20
0 0,00 0 0,00
-5 -0,20 -5 -0,20
-10 -0,39 -10 -0,39
-15 -0,59 -15 -0,59
-20 -0,79 -20 -0,79
-25 -0,98 -25 -0,98
-15 -10 -5 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 -15 -10 -5 0 5 10 15 20 25 30
Distance (mm) Distance (mm)
front front
(mm) (inch) (mm) (inch)
Sensor Sensor
**----- End of picture text -----**
**3** Specifications are subject to change without notice (05.07.2022) **CA30CAN/CAF.....** ## **Detection Stabilit Indication y** **==> picture [72 x 72] intentionally omitted <==** **==> picture [500 x 215] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
Target influence
Stable ON
Output ON
Output OFF
Stable OFF
Time
Green LED ON
Yellow LED ON
Output NO
Output NC
Dust alarm NO >1 sec. >1 sec. >1 sec. >2 sec.
Dust alarm NC >1 sec. >1 sec. >1 sec. >2 sec.
**----- End of picture text -----**
## **Dimensions** **==> picture [159 x 141] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
CA30CAF....
81
61
LED
M30 x 1.5 x 59.5
CA30CAN....
**----- End of picture text -----**
**==> picture [65 x 8] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
CA30CAF....M1
**----- End of picture text -----**
**==> picture [141 x 95] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
74
61
LED
M12 x 1.0
M30 x 1.5 x 59.5
**----- End of picture text -----**
## **CA30CAN....M1** **==> picture [407 x 233] intentionally omitted <==** **----- Start of picture text -----**
81 74
61 61
LED
LED
14,5 M12 x 1.0
14,5
M30 x 1.5 x 45.5
M30 x 1.5 x 45.5
Cable Plug
Back of sensor
2 Colour code
Sensitivity
adjustment
Green LED 1 Brown
Yellow LED DIST. 3 1 2 White
3 Blue
OUTPUT STABLE
4 Black
4
**----- End of picture text -----**
**4** Specifications are subject to change without notice (05.07.2022) **CA30CAN/CAF.....** ## **Installation Hints** Capacitive sensors have a • **Chemical Industry** unique ability to detect alCleansers, fertilizers, liqmost any material in li quid or uid soaps, corrosives and solid form.
