## Description

The Multicomp Pro BZX84C16 is a silicon planar single Zener diode engineered for stable voltage regulation in high-density surface-mount electronics. Supplied in a compact 3-pin SOT-23 package optimized for automated pick-and-place board assembly, this component delivers a nominal Zener voltage of 16V with a tight operating range spanning from 15.3V to 17.1V at a test current (IZT) of 5mA. It handles a maximum power dissipation (Pd) of 350mW under standard operating conditions and features a junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of 417°C/W when mounted on a 99.5% alumina substrate. 

Designed for low-current and precision reference topologies, the BZX84C16 exhibits a maximum dynamic impedance (ZZT) of 40Ω at IZT and restricts reverse leakage current (Ir) to a minimal 0.05µA at a reverse test voltage (Vr) of 11.2V. The wide operating and storage junction temperature range of -55°C to +150°C ensures robust thermal performance and long-term reliability in demanding environments. 

This surface-mount Zener diode is ideally suited for voltage clamping, overvoltage protection, and local regulation rails in space-constrained applications such as cellular infrastructure, handheld portable devices, industrial sensor modules, and dense multi-layer printed circuit boards.
