First, they act as intermediate points for attaching ribbon leads of thin-gage wire to heavier instrumentation wires. Second, they give stress relief to strain gage systems. When the heavy instrumentation wire moves, the terminal pad protects the strain gage. Carrier is polyimide with a thickness of 0.075 mm (0.003"). Minimum bending radius is 2 mm (0.079").
