## Description

The Bourns 2035-47-SM-RPLF is a precision two-terminal surface-mount gas discharge tube (GDT) designed for high-density PCB applications requiring robust surge protection. This component features a 470 V DC sparkover voltage (±15% tolerance at 100 V/s) with a maximum impulse sparkover of 950 V at 1000 V/μs, enabling effective clamping of transient overvoltage events. The device delivers exceptional surge current handling capability of 10 kA (8/20 μs waveform) for single-operation protection, with additional ratings including 5 kA for 10 operations, 1 kA for 300 operations, and 100 A for 500 operations. The hermetically sealed ceramic-metal construction ensures stable breakdown characteristics throughout operational life, with insulation resistance exceeding 10¹⁰ Ω and capacitance below 1 pF at 1 MHz, minimizing insertion loss in high-frequency signal lines.

Engineered for telecommunications, commercial, and industrial equipment, this GDT provides primary protection in AC mains interfaces, DSL/xDSL modems, RF antenna systems, and Ethernet ports where low capacitance is critical for signal integrity. The leadless SMD package measures 5.0 mm × 4.4 mm with 0.51 mm terminal height, compatible with automated pick-and-place assembly and standard reflow soldering per IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020. The device operates across -55°C to +85°C with a climatic category of 40/90/21 per IEC 60068-1, and maintains DC holdover voltage above 135 V with glow-to-arc transition current below 0.5 A for reliable extinguishing after surge events. Compliance with ITU-T K.12, IEEE C62.31, and IEC 61643-311 standards, plus UL recognition (File E153537), ensures suitability for global deployment in equipment requiring certified surge protection.
